31r: (2) loose letters from the Crusaders: (31r_a): brown, bi-fold letter from the Crusaders, n.d., acknowledging some have just finished basic training at Shelby. Letter begins: “Dear ______ Pardon us if we seem “nosey” trying to follow your every-transferred-whereabouts, but we did want to say a few words of “we’ll be rooting for you.” But ‘when’ this will reach you, we do not know. We hope, however, it will be before you embark on your distant cruise..” (31r_b_1-4): orange booklet from the Crusaders, n.d., that begins: “Miles and miles of miles and miles to a good egg… Our spring has sprung. We take our pen, To “egg” you onward once again…”
