In 1975, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines created the Episcopal Commission on Tribal Filipinos. This poster is part of a poster campaign organized by the Episcopal Commission on Tribal Filipinos (ECTF) that highlighted the ways that issues affecting Indigenous People (land insecurity, economic and political marginality) are also issues that concern other Filipinos. The commission organized and directed several programs within Indigenous People’s communities to raise people’s consciousness, linking their struggles with those of other marginalized sectors. Tribal Filipino Sundays occurred every second Sunday of October and allowed clergy to focus specifically on Indigenous People.
