No Peace with 850 U.S. Military Bases: Dismantle (also) the U.S. Bases in the Philippines

Poster title - No Peace with 850 US Military Bases Dismantle also the US Bases in the Philippines

In the Philippines, the United States operated two major military bases, Clark Air Force Base and Subic Bay Naval Base. At one point, Subic Bay Naval Base was the largest U.S. military operation outside of the United States. In 1983, Ferdinand Marcos signed an extension of the U.S. lease on the military bases. Numerous resistance groups in the Philippines pointed to the bases as a key example of the U.S. neocolonial relationship with the Philippines. While the Philippine Senate under the Corazon Aquino administration rejected the extension of the bases agreement, the Philippines continues to engage in military collaborations with the United States.
