Labor Solidarity ’85: Onward with Genuine, Militant, and Democratic Trade Unionism!!

Poster title - Labor Solidarity 85 Onward with Genuine Militant and Democratic Trade Unionism

The Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU; May First Movement) was established on May 1, 1980 as a “genuine, militant, and nationalist” labor organization that engages in class struggle. The labor solidarity movement in the Philippines has historically joined other labor organizations around the world to highlight the plight of workers and to commemorate International Workers’ Day, which itself traces its roots in an 1889 international federation of socialist groups and trade unions.
