Mission Gráfica, founded in 1977 alongside the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, produced this poster as part of the National Day of Justice convening in San Francisco on October 19, 1985. Nineteen other cities participated in the Day of Justice to honor immigrants and refugees and to draw attention to the issues and problems that affected them. Congress enacted the Immigration Reform and Control Act (Simpson-Mazzoli Act or Reagan Amnesty), which Ronald Reagan signed into law in 1986. The act introduced civil and criminal penalties to employers who knowingly hired undocumented immigrants.
