Poster title - Empowerment of Women

International Women’s Day 1987, GABRIELA-Mindanao
The GABRIELA organization arrived in the 1980s as part of a new women’s coalition that advocated for both women’s empowerment and a broad range of issues that included land rights, housing, and public health. The intersection of women’s rights with other struggles for self-determination contrasted sharply with the Marcos regime’s advocacy of women’s empowerment as an avenue for economic development.
