Transcription of oral history interview with Karl R. Bendetsen. Interviewed by Jerry N. Hess at the Harry S. Truman Library on October 1981. Karl R. Bendetsen was the Assistant Chief of Staff and Commanding Officer of the Wartime Civil Control Administration for the forced removal and relocation after the signing of Executive Order 9066. In later testimonies, Bendetsen denied involvement in the forced removal and detainment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
